The Reality Labs Technology Engineering team turns core technology breakthroughs into scalable market solutions. Within this group, the Technology Engineering Camera Team is looking for an Field IQ technician with strong experience in image quality analysis for new and emerging products.

Responsibilities
● Perform both objective and subjective experiments in laboratory and field environments to evaluate image quality, system behavior, and performance on prototype hardware and software.
● Organize and document experiment results, providing timely and insightful feedback.
● Conduct in office and in the field testing—including short trips to test sites—to collect image quality datasets for camera development.
● Identify, report, and track image quality issues, generating detailed bug reports and development documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
● At least 2 years of experience with photography equipment or operating imaging lab equipment.
● Ability to identify, reproduce, and isolate image quality issues through visual analysis.
● Proficient written communication skills; comfortable sharing results in team syncs and during field execution.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Imaging Science, Color Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
● Experience in one or more of the following: retouching, photography, videography, imaging lab design/setup, software QA, camera hardware validation, or camera ISP/computational photography features.
● Experience designing, executing, and analyzing both subjective and objective image quality tests.
● Basic understanding of system-level interactions within the image pipeline and their effects on image quality.
● Awareness of consumer electronics and a focus on optimizing the end-user experience in photography and videography features.

Top 3 non-negotiable must skills:
● At least 2 years of experience with photography equipment (Professional photography equipment) or operating imaging lab equipment. Candidates should understand the technical aspect of photography i.e. what camera settings impact the quality of the image
● Ability to identify, reproduce, and isolate image quality issues through visual analysis
● Comfortable with fairly repetitive work i.e. field testing

Good to have skills:
● English proficiency - Proficient written communication skills; comfortable sharing results in team syncs and during field execution
